Another month is over...well, it will be in a few more hours. It seems like each month goes by a little faster than the previous month did. At this rate, it will be Thanksgiving and Christmas again before we know it. I hope not. I am looking forward to the rest of spring and summer.
Sarah and I have been busy working on websites and product inventories. I got wiring completed for my kiln so I can fire pieces again. Yeah! I really enjoy making ceramic items and have missed not being able to work on projects. I have several things that I want to make for myself. I always make gifts for everyone but never end up with pieces for myself. Speaking of gifts, though, I owe Travis a chess board for his chess set. At any rate, we now have 2 websites: www.CrimsonCactus.com with our hand crocheted necklaces and www.TheSixScents.com with our hand-poured soy candles. We are making ceramic candle cups and ceramic pillar candles now which are included on the site. Hope you will check them out when you need a gift for someone or just want to get something new for yourself.
Allen is staying busy with work but is excited that I have gotten things organized in the garage. Once he goes through a few boxes of 'his' stuff, he will have room to set his saws up and start doing some woodworking again. In fact, I have a few items I want him to make for me, too. He keeps wanting to take a weekend and go fishing at the coast but things have been so hectic, we just haven't had time. Besides, there are so many lakes and rivers around here close, it seems silly to drive all the way to the coast to fish. Ah, but the coast is the coast and has its own special attraction. Maybe soon.
My Mother's memory issues continue to worsen and it is taking its toll on everyone. It is so hard to watch this happening, knowing there is nothing you can do about it. I just trust that this, too, is part of God's plan and he will help us through it.
I still have things that I need to find places for...lots of pictures for the walls and such but I have made a lot of progress in going through things and getting rid of a lot of extra stuff. I hope to have everything completed in the next few weeks. This process has certainly brought back a lot of memories. Travis and Sarah have both been after me to blog some of the stories from my childhood so the stories don't get lost. Especially if what is happening to my Mother starts happening to me. I don't know if I will put them here or start another blog for them. I'll have to think about that.
Well, I guess I will say goodbye to April for this year. I'll keep you posted on what is going on during May. Drop me a note or leave a comment with what you are up to.
Make time! Stuff will wait. When you're too old to get out of the house you won't wish you had taken more time to "get stuff done" you'll wish you had taken time to go fishing on the coast!
ReplyDeleteIf you don't want to blog those stories, you can always just journal them - type or hand written. That way they aren't lost but you're not pushing yourself to share things you may not be ready to share....
